Titus Ministries at Cayucos

Titus Ministries was established in 1992 by Bill and Jeanette Gray for the purpose of assisting the local church to become all God intended it to be by recapturing the church's mission based upon Christ's Great Commission and Great Commandment. By God's guidance, this is accomplished by providing teams and resources to revitalize the church. The Biblical model of Titus Ministries is taken from Titus 1:5: The reason I left you in Crete was that you might straighten out what was left unfinished and appoint elders in every town, as I directed you. Their task is focused in four areas: Intentional Interim Pastorates, Coaching/Consulting, Seminars and Diagnostics. Who needs Titus Ministries? Churches between pastors and in transition, churches in decline or conflict and healthy churches desiring to make their ministries more effective.

At the counsel of Evangelical Free leadership, the congregation voted to have Titus Ministries provide an Intentional Interim Pastor commencing April, 2006. Dr. Mahlon Friesen and his wife, Darlene, were called to serve and moved here May, 2006. Pastor Friesen will leave when a new pastor is called to the church.

Mahlon completed his undergraduate work at Biola University, a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Ministry at Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry in Marriage and Family Ministries at Talbot School of Theology. A pastor for 31 years, Mahlon has served in five churches in Washington and California in associate and senior pastoral roles prior to joining Titus Ministries in April, 2006.

Titus formed TEAMINISTRY©, a group of 15 men and women of our congregation who trained in a wide range of church leadership issues. From TM they have appointed and are coaching the Pastoral Search Team composed of three men and two women in preparing a church profile, community profile, senior pastor profile and implementing the search process. They have been commissioned to seek God's man for this Church.
